Elie Saab returns to Haute Couture with a collection that turns the night into a stage for mystery, fantasy and carefully crafted glamour. For Autumn/Winter 2026–27, The Ball of Untamed Dreams explores a world where fashion takes on a theatrical quality, inviting the imagination to move freely between reality and fantasy.

A Night of Mystery
The collection begins in an atmosphere filled with shadows, masked figures and fleeting glimpses of light, creating the feeling of a secret gathering after dark. Elie Saab uses this setting to present couture as something that can change the mood of a room before the wearer even speaks.
That sense of atmosphere connects naturally with the ideas explored by Copenhagen-based Studio Pneuma, whose founders approach design through architecture, space and the senses. Their work considers how our surroundings can influence perception, while Elie Saab achieves a similar effect through fabric, movement, light and silhouette.
Couture as Transformation
Throughout the collection, transformation becomes an important part of the story. The silhouettes appear designed for movement, while intricate surfaces catch the light and create new impressions as the wearer moves through a space.
Rather than keeping the fantasy distant, Elie Saab brings it into the construction of each look, giving the clothes a strong presence without losing their sense of delicacy. The result is couture that feels theatrical while remaining closely connected to the body.
This relationship between body and space is particularly interesting when viewed alongside Studio Pneuma’s design philosophy. The Copenhagen studio considers the human scale and the intimate relationship between the body and its surroundings, creating objects and fragrances that heighten awareness of physical space.
Light, Shadow and Couture
Light plays an important role in the visual language of The Ball of Untamed Dreams. Sparkling surfaces appear against darker moments, while details reveal themselves gradually as the looks move.
The contrast gives the collection a cinematic quality, almost as though each entrance belongs to a different scene. Mysterious figures, masked faces and moments caught in lamplight reinforce the idea of a night where nothing remains quite as it first appears.
A Modern Fantasy
Elie Saab has created a collection that allows traditional couture techniques to meet a more theatrical imagination. The clothes carry the drama expected from Haute Couture, yet the story remains focused on atmosphere, movement and the experience of wearing them.
In this setting, fashion becomes closely tied to the senses. Much like Studio Pneuma’s approach to fragrance, where scent can alter how we experience our surroundings, Elie Saab uses couture to change how a person occupies a space.
For Autumn/Winter 2026–27, The Ball of Untamed Dreams offers an invitation to see couture through a different lens: mysterious, expressive and shaped by the meeting of body, space, light and imagination.
