Interview with Elvira Gavrilova and Angelica

Our magazine supports Ukraine with all its heart. That’s why we could not miss the interview of two wonderful representatives of the Ukrainian delegation at the Cannes Film Festival – producer, CEO of the international marketing company “Amillidius”, owner of glossy business magazines Elvira Gavrilova and designer, owner of the brand “Armoire” Angelica.

The 75th Cannes Film Festival, the most significant forum of its kind in Europe and one of the most important in the world, started on May 17 on the Cote d’Azur, lasted until May 28, and was marked by the appearance of many bright celebrities on the red carpet.

In 2020, the Film Festival was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic; in 2021, it was held in an abbreviated format. This year it is going on as usual, but under unusual conditions — against the backdrop of a terrible war in the center of Europe — in Ukraine.

Hi. This year, on the red carpet, you distinguished yourself with your outfits with Ukrainian national symbols — your amazing pair outfit with the coat of arms of Ukraine, as well as Elvira’s classic black dress with a flag on the skirt. Earlier in your interviews, you said that your goal is to show what Ukrainian culture is. How do you feel at the Cannes Film Festival with this message?

Elvira: We came here with the idea that Ukrainians need to make themselves known. Someone is trying to destroy our culture, but we are here to show everyone that our culture exists, it is alive, it has something unique, its own identity, and very beautiful handwriting.

Undoubtedly, we feel a great responsibility. Everyone is looking at us. Therefore, it is very important for us to show our country in all its glory.

Angelica: As is known, woman has always been the personification of beauty, peace and kindness. The main task of Ukrainian women now is to maintain faith in victory and support Ukraine and its defenders.

The brand “Armoire” has always been distinguished by very feminine, exciting looks, and the Cannes Film Festival has become a great occasion to draw the attention of society to the events taking place in Ukraine. Especially for the red carpet, we created a unique dress made of light, transparent material with hand-embroidered patterns of the coat of arms of Ukraine.

As Ukraine should be on the agenda, we must not forget about the war that is now taking place in the center of Europe. We considered it our duty to declare about Ukraine once again.

Your looks are thought out to the smallest detail. We know that you are even wearing jewelry by the Ukrainian brand BUUNT, is that true?

Elvira: You are right, we chose jewelry by BUUNT to complement our looks.

BUUNT’s production is located in Ukraine, but the company first announced itself in England, from which it began its journey around the world.

Atypical collections of jewelry by BUUNT do not leave anyone indifferent.

We were attracted to this brand due to the fact that each product is unique, and there is no other like it. Every detail, every stroke of enamel, texture, and stone is like a work of art. The secret of such individuality is hidden in the technique of creating products — the Japanese technique Mokume-Gane. At first glance, it resembles a fingerprint, the texture of wood, or a rare stone, but here the secret is in the art of the master and working with metals and processing temperature.

Angelica: The most interesting thing is that all collections are created by hand, there are no mechanical interventions — this is the history of the master, metals, stones, and paints.

Someone finds unity with nature, someone — with space, and for someone, it is exclusivity and a sign of quality, but each collection allows us to fantasize and mix colors.

BUUNT is luxury in detail with Ukraine in the heart. And, of course, this approach is more relevant than ever before.
