To celebrate Pride Month, Donatella Versace teamed up with singer and LGBTQ+ community activist Cher for a limited-edition capsule collection called ‘Chersace’. Aiming to raise funds for the charity Gender Spectrum, this organization supports gender-diverse children and teenagers. In addition, it accompanies the families and the health professionals who go through this journey with them.
To commemorate the month dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community, many brands in the fashion industry take the opportunity to release special lines in honour of this theme, and Versace is no exception. The Italian fashion house just moved forward from ‘Fendace’, the last collection launched as a collaboration with Fendi, to join forces with singer, actress and, most important, Donatella Versace’s dear friend Cher in a brand-new capsule collection. The two icons had wanted to work together for a while and decided that their first partnership should be for the benefit of a cause they both endearingly support.
Versace has always advocated for the LGBTQ+ community celebrations and has released several pride collections for the matter. For instance, last year, the luxury brand collaborated with Lady Gaga for Pride Month as well as to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the singer’s album ‘Born This Way’ by releasing a collection dedicated to this cause and contributing to the singer’s foundation with a portion of the sales.
In this opportunity, through ‘Chersace’, Donatella and Cher aim to commemorate the LGBTQ+ community by releasing a limited-edition, rainbow-inspired capsule collection during Pride Month, a meaningful celebration for both of them. The line comprises three main pieces: a T-shirt, a pair of knee-length socks, and a baseball cap that can be purchased online and whose prices range between 80 and 300 euros. The T-shirt and the cap feature the printed signatures of Donatella and Cher, while the three garments include the collection’s name and the label’s distinguishable Medusa in a rainbow motif.

Additionally, the line has a fourth piece exclusive for the United States’ website shoppers: a special embellished ‘Diamante’ T-shirt priced at USD 3,350. This sparkling version of the T-shirt is hand-signed by Cher and Donatella Versace.

The collaboration was announced by Versace through a video posted on its Instagram profile and its website. In the video, Jake Bongiovi introduces this alliance between the two renowned supporters of the LGBTQ+ community. Moreover, the Italian brand explained that a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Gender Spectrum organization, which works for the well-being of gender-diverse youth by creating and promoting inclusive environments.
Both of the LGBTQ+ pride advocates, long-time friends and now business partners in the fashion industry, posted pictures on their Instagram feeds wearing the ‘Diamante’ T-shirts.
