L’Officiel Monaco has recognized Buddha-Bar as one of Monte Carlo’s most exclusive destinations. Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo offers an East Asian-inspired setting, where warm colors, a Buddha statue, and a serene lounge atmosphere create an inviting environment for relaxation. The menu highlights the best of Thai and Japanese cuisine, offering a fusion of rich Asian flavors.

The venue’s impressive decor features a 7-meter-high ceiling, intricate wood designs, and a large Buddha statue in a meditative pose, adding to the tranquil vibe. The open-air terraces provide a perfect spot to enjoy evenings. The ambiance is further elevated by the resident DJ, Papadia Donato, known as DJ Papa, who curates a sophisticated mix of lounge, chill-out, and world music, with subtle ethnic and electro beats.

At the restaurant, guests can enjoy a variety of Asian dishes, including sashimi, maki, and sushi, complemented by sake or a signature cocktail. Chef Éric Guillemaud and his team expertly blend Asian flavors with the precision of French culinary techniques, offering a truly unique dining experience.

Chef Eric Guillemaud

Chef Eric Guillemaud’s culinary training began with the Monte-Carlo SBM Group, where he first learned traditional cooking at the Hôtel de Paris and then specialized in healthy cuisine at L’Hirondelle, the restaurant of the Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo. He further honed his skills at two prestigious luxury hotels: the 5-star Grand Hotel Park in Gstaad, renowned for its exquisite gastronomy, and the Résidence de la Pinède, a Michelin 2-star establishment. Guillemaud’s love for his hometown and his desire to bring his extensive experience back to Monaco led him to work at the Sporting Monte-Carlo and the Casino de Monte-Carlo restaurants. Upon the opening of Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo, he was appointed Executive Chef, where he continues to showcase his unique culinary expertise.

The restaurant is undoubtedly one of the premier destinations to enjoy sushi, offering an extensive selection that caters to both traditional and adventurous palates. Starting with classics like “New Style Salmon” or “New Style Tuna” sushi, the menu also features more creative options such as the “Wild Shrimp Tempura Roll” and “Soft Shell Dragon Rolls.” Each dish is crafted with precision, ensuring a perfect balance of flavors that highlight the freshness of the ingredients.

For an appetizer, the edamame is a simple yet satisfying choice, while the “Thai Green Papaya Salad” offers an exotic and refreshing start to your meal. The menu is diverse, with ample options for vegetarians, but it’s the fish and meat dishes that truly stand out. One of the highlights is the Roasted Black Cod. This dish is a rare delicacy in fine dining, known for its rich, buttery flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The high fat content of black cod, also known as sablefish, not only enhances its luxurious taste but also provides a generous dose of omega-3 fatty acids, promoting heart health.

To complement the main dishes, sides like mashed potatoes with truffles add an extra layer of indulgence. However, one of the true stars of the menu is the Teppanyaki Grilled Lobster, presented with an exquisite attention to detail. Each dish at Buddha-Bar is not just a meal but a culinary experience, making you feel as though you’ve found a piece of heaven on earth.

For families, the “Family Style Prestige” menu is a convenient and delicious option. Designed for four or more, it includes a well-curated selection of appetizers, main courses, sides, and desserts, allowing everyone to share in the enjoyment of Buddha-Bar’s exceptional cuisine.

The setting of Buddha-Bar is rich in history, located where the old Cabaret de Monte-Carlo once stood—a famous theatre and concert hall at the turn of the century, housed within the iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo. Today, Buddha-Bar stands as one of the top spots in Monte Carlo, offering not just a meal, but a truly memorable dining experience.
