A Guide for Inner Peace

Our modern world is fluid in every sense. News updates every second, new social media posts every minute, or FaceTime calls every hour. Everything moves just like an ocean of information that never stops.

Every time we return to our true selves, we are essentially learning how to be in the ocean but not overtaken by its waves. Not shaken or transformed by the beliefs and energies of those around us.

When we emotionally detach, we are the opposite of emotionally dependent. This inner sense of independence creates inner peace.

But how to stay calm and grounded?

1. Meditation. It is powerful enough to change our brain patterns by connecting the right and left hemispheres of the brain and increasing alpha waves. The body enters a state of deep relaxation.

2. Yoga. This can teach us to breathe through uncomfortable poses. So we can learn to breathe through life’s challenges.

3. Fasting. It regenerates the immune system. But the real purpose of fasting is to enhance the mind-body connection. To connect us to our intuition. It can help us become less self-centred and focus our attention on something created beyond us. To feel the interconnectedness of everything.

4. Unplug. Stepping away from the saturated media environment takes courage. It’s easy to lose or sense of self-awareness and to compare ourselves to others. The perfect images on social media can take away moments of being authentic and vulnerable.

5. Morning Rituals. Mornings are the best time to set intentions for the day. Creating a sense of inner peace before the day begins.

6. Cleaning. A clutter-free home is a home where energy can move. A sanctuary for ourselves or visitors. A chance to experience the secret in the mondäne.

7. Mindfulness. We can infuse our life with mindfulness in every moment. Take time to eat, drink tea, or listen to music. Even to choose our words more deliberately

8. Let go. Being conscious of our emotional state helps us to feel our emotions while not being overtaken by them. Describing our feelings and detaching from them. An emotion can last in our body for up to ten seconds when not nurtured by thoughts.
