Celia Kritharioti: Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture

A gaggle of colourfully clad models walked down the runway in Celia Kritharioti’s Spring/Summer Couture showing during Haute Couture Week in Paris. Time to look at the Greek designer’s collection of gowns and dive into our couture conversation.

Coloured Days

In Paris, a city clad in black blazers under grey skies, Celia Kritharioti brought some sunshine to the city of lights, showcasing every rainbow shade.

As each look danced down the runway, you couldn’t help but smile. The childlike ethereal nature of this collection was reminiscent of the imaginative days of our youth, splashing in puddles, playing make-believe, wishing on a star.

One by one, playfully clad models exuded confidence, breaking through the cloudy gloominess that generally accompanies the Paris fashion scene. The energy was alive and enigmatic. It was more of a party with your most beautiful friends than a serious fashion show. Certainly a refreshing take on haute couture.

Overall the haute couture collection is a beautiful success. While there are several instances where editing would be welcome, the sheer positive energy beaming from the collection is enough to overlook minor technical errors. The dresses are stunning, and the overall vibe is an uplifting ray of light to break through the dark times of these past 2 years.

Suppose Celia Kritharioti can continue to highlight her evident ability to inspire happiness within the ever so serious fashion community while paying closer attention to the small technical details. In that case, I predict great success in her future as an Haute couturier.
