There are fashion moments that are designed for spectacle, and there are those created for memory.
For SELHAYA®, the British silk Maison founded in London by Aisha Hossain and Sajjad Choudhury, the announcement of Her Regal Majesty Ǫueen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi as the House’s first Official Royal Patron belongs firmly to the latter.
To mark the patronage, Her Regal Majesty is pictured wearing The Coronation, a gold crystal and pearl silk piece from SELHAYA’s Royal Collection. Created as a tribute to modern majesty, the piece reflects the Maison’s visual language: ceremonial silk, refined embellishment, cultural storytelling and quiet grandeur.
Upon accepting the role, Her Regal Majesty said:
“True luxury is not measured by what we wear, but by the legacy we weave. As Official Royal Patron of SELHAYA®️, I proudly champion a House where silk becomes heritage, craftsmanship becomes culture, and elegance becomes a timeless legacy”
The appointment follows Her Regal Majesty’s attendance as Guest of Honour at the inaugural SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon, held at Mansion House, City of London, on 27 June 2026.
The Salon brought together guests from across culture, luxury, fashion, philanthropy, entrepreneurship and the arts for an afternoon dedicated to silk, craftsmanship, heritage and legacy. Within the historic interiors of Mansion House, SELHAYA presented ceremonial silk pieces, unveiled its first framed silk artworks, and staged a fashion presentation that reflected the House’s emerging identity: modest, architectural, symbolic and deeply rooted in story.
At the centre of the Royal Patron announcement is The Coronation — a gold silk piece designed not simply as attire, but as a visual statement of contemporary royalty. Its crystal and pearl embellishment evokes ceremonial light, while its flowing silhouette reflects SELHAYA’s fascination with movement, architecture and presence.
Rather than approaching luxury as excess, SELHAYA treats silk as a medium of continuity. Each piece is conceived through narrative, material and memory, with the ambition that silk may be worn, collected, gifted and remembered.

During the Mansion House Salon, SELHAYA also presented Her Regal Majesty with The Sovereign Jewel, an original framed silk artwork created on gold taffeta silk with hand embroidery featuring more than 800 crystals. The work was created as a gesture of gratitude, respect and shared cultural purpose, marking a meaningful evolution for the Maison from silk worn as garments to silk framed as art.
For SELHAYA, this movement between fashion, object and ceremony is central to the House’s philosophy. A garment is never only a garment; it is an archive of intention. A silk artwork is never merely decorative; it becomes a vessel of memory.
As Official Royal Patron, Her Regal Majesty graciously lends her support to SELHAYA’s cultural mission: celebrating craftsmanship, women’s dignity, heritage, philanthropy and legacy through the language of silk.
Her patronage marks a defining moment for the House, recognising SELHAYA as a British luxury Maison with a growing cultural platform and a commitment to honouring beauty with purpose.
In a world often defined by speed, SELHAYA’s vision is deliberately slower. Its pieces are designed for ceremony rather than trend, for inheritance rather than immediacy, and for women whose elegance is carried with presence.
With The Coronation, SELHAYA introduces a new visual chapter: one in which silk becomes heritage, craftsmanship becomes culture, and elegance becomes legacy.
