1. Joining ‘The Chi’: It was recently announced that you were among 6 joining the hit show ‘The Chi’ final season cast. How does it feel to be a part of the final season of ‘The Chi’? What attracted you to this particular role and show?
I’m so blessed to be a part of the final season of “The Chi”! Joining a show that has made such a significant impact on its audience and the community is both an honor and a thrilling opportunity. The narrative of “The Chi” is deeply rooted in the realities of life in Chicago, capturing the struggles and triumphs of its characters in a raw and authentic manner. What attracted me to this role was not just the character of Jordan, but the chance to be part of a story that speaks to resilience and community. It’s a show that challenges stereotypes and offers a platform for diverse voices, and I’m excited to contribute to that dialogue in its concluding chapter.

2. Can you share a little about the character you’ll be portraying in ‘The Chi’? What aspects of her personality or story resonate with you the most?
On “The Chi,” I play Jordan, who is Keith’s (Jackie Long) love interest. Jordan is a nurse who uses her street ties to make extra money to take care of her mother. This story resonates with anyone trying to make it, especially those who face obstacles in their path. What I find particularly compelling about Jordan is her determination and resourcefulness. She’s a character that embodies the struggle of balancing personal aspirations with familial responsibilities—something many can relate to. The question of how far Jordan will go to secure her family’s future adds layers of complexity to her character, making her journey all the more engaging.

3. While you may can’t divulge specifics about your upcoming work, what genres are you most passionate about exploring in the future? Why do they speak to you?
I absolutely love comedy! I used to create comedic content on Vine and Instagram years ago, which was such a joyful experience. Those days were filled with laughter and collaboration with other creatives, and I miss that spirit of fun. Comedy provides a unique outlet for expression and connection. Speaking of comedy, a Judd Apatow movie working with Leslie Mann is the ultimate dream role! I admire how Judd’s films blend humor with heartfelt moments, and I would love to be part of a project that captures that same essence.

4.  Is there a particular role you’ve always dreamed of playing, whether in film or television? What makes that character so appealing to you?
While I have tackled various characters, I’ve always dreamed of playing a role in an action film. I’ve never had an opportunity to delve into that genre, and I believe a physically challenging role would be incredibly exciting and empowering. Staying active and fit has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, so I feel ready to embrace that challenge. Action roles often require a different kind of physicality and mental toughness, and I am eager to explore that dimension of my craft.

5. With your growing experience in the industry, what advice would you give to aspiring actors regarding the importance of taking on diverse roles and projects?
My advice to aspiring actors is to train and understand the business. It’s crucial to get into classes that challenge you and help refine your skills. Reading the trades and staying informed about the industry is equally important—knowledge is power. Always watch great work, but don’t copy; instead, focus on finding your own voice and style. Authenticity is what will set you apart in this competitive field.

6. How has your personal style evolved over the years, and who are some of your close relatives growing up that influenced your style?
Honestly, I was a jeans and sneakers girlie growing up. I remember wearing a GUCCI dress to my prom and feeling like a million bucks—I thought, “I AM FASHION.” I would save my money and buy one expensive piece from Bloomingdale’s or Saks, which felt like a significant investment. However, once I moved to LA, I realized I was less connected to fashion and found myself wearing yoga wear every day due to my busy schedule. Over time, I’ve learned that fashion is a form of self-expression, and now I’m excited to rediscover that aspect of myself.

7. While you can’t share too much about your upcoming projects, what type of roles are you hoping to play in the future? Are there any specific genres or characters that excite you?
While I can’t share too much about my upcoming projects, I’m eager to explore roles that allow me to showcase my range as an actress. I’m particularly excited about characters that challenge societal norms, perhaps in dramas or even more comedic roles that highlight significant life lessons. I’m also drawn to stories with complex female leads that resonate with women’s experiences today.

8. Fashion can be a powerful form of self-expression. How has your personal style evolved?
Since recently moving back to New York from Los Angeles, I’ve really started to lean into fashion again. How can you not embrace fashion when you’re back in New York? It’s such a vibrant and inspiring city for style. Working with my stylist, Mickey Freeman aka Mickey Boom, has been pivotal in rekindling my love for fashion. He has a unique vision that encourages me to step outside my comfort zone and express myself through clothing in a way that feels authentic.

9. Acting can be a tough industry to navigate. How do you cope with setbacks or challenges, and how does fashion play a role in your resilience?
Navigating the entertainment industry can indeed be challenging, so it’s essential to take personal time to recharge. I find that traveling and practicing yoga—hot yoga being my favorite—help me maintain balance and focus. These practices allow me to center myself, clear my mind, and return to my work with renewed energy and perspective.

10.  In what ways do you believe that dressing well can boost confidence and assist women in overcoming self-doubt within the entertainment industry?
Dressing well undoubtedly boosts confidence. There’s a unique sense of pride that comes from putting together a complete look. Recently, I attended the MAXMARA Women in Hollywood event and had to trust my fashion stylist, Mickey Freeman, because I initially didn’t see his vision for the outfit. But once I wore it, I felt empowered and confident. That experience taught me the importance of trusting the creative process and the people who are there to support and elevate you.

11. In this cover story, you showcased some stunning fur looks designed by the self-proclaimed “Queen of Furs,” Tiara of FGM Bespoke, a talented black woman furrier. Can you tell us about your excitement to wear two of the three fur looks? What made these pieces stand out to you?
Absolutely! I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to wear two of the three incredible fur looks designed by FGM Bespoke. The moment my stylist, Mickey Freeman, dressed me in these pieces, I was instantly captivated by the quality and craftsmanship. Each fur is not only luxurious but also makes a unique statement that truly sets it apart. The textures are rich, and the colors are absolutely breathtaking, making me feel like a true queen! I appreciate how FGM Bespoke blends traditional elegance with modern flair, allowing me to express my individuality while feeling sexy and sophisticated in front of the camera. Wearing these furs is not just about fashion; it’s about celebrating the artistry of a talented black woman business owner who is making waves in the industry.

12. Can you introduce us to Tiara, the visionary behind FGM Bespoke? What can you tell us about her journey and design philosophy?
I was introduced to the brand by my stylist, Mickey, who envisioned a fashion story for this cover shoot that highlights spring furs—a trend he forecasts to be the next big thing for the season. Tiara Peach-Hanlon, also known as The Furry Godmother, is an incredible force and the brilliant mind behind FGM Bespoke. Her journey has been nothing short of inspiring as she continues to carve out a space for herself in a predominantly male dominated industry. Her passion for her craft shines through in every piece she creates, making her the go-to designer for stylists dressing celebrity clients in fashion, music, and television. As a girl’s girl who supports other women, I am excited about Tiara’s mission to empower both women and men to feel confident and beautiful in her designs. I couldn’t be more thrilled to wear her work and share her creations with the world.

13. Closing Thoughts:
I am so excited to be this month’s cover star of L’Officiel Monaco! I love traveling and soaking in the beauty of the South of France. As I continue my journey in both acting and fashion, I hope to leave a legacy that encourages authenticity and creativity. I want future generations to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their passions unapologetically. The message I want to convey is that hard work, resilience, and staying true to one’s values are key to success. I believe that through fashion and art, we can inspire positive change and advocate for issues that truly matter.
