Its various activities

The best way to experience Cinque Terre is by hiking along the coastal trail that connects all five villages. The path is approximately 12 kilometres long and offers impressive views of the sea and the architecture. While some parts of the trail can be challenging, it’s worth it. Alternatively, you can take a train or a boat to get from one village to another.

Riomaggiore is the first village you’ll come across when hiking from the south. It’s a charming village with narrow streets, colourful houses, and a picturesque harbour. Manarola is the second village known for its beautiful vineyards and stunning sunsets. Corniglia is the only village not directly on the coast and located on top of a hill. It’s a quiet village with a relaxed atmosphere. Vernazza is a picturesque village with a small harbour and a beautiful church. It’s the most famous village among tourists. Finally, Monterosso al Mare is the largest village with a long sandy beach.

Cinque Terre is a popular tourist destination that can get crowded during the peak season. To avoid the crowds, visiting during the shoulder season (May-June or September-October) is best.

The boats are another option and offer a unique perspective of the villages from the sea. Additionally, the villages are small and easy to navigate on foot, so you can explore each at your own pace.
