Whether you are looking to join an agency or searching for models to book, here is a list of some of the most inclusive modelling agencies:
Natural Models LA
Bradford Willcox and Katie H. Willcox founded Natural Model Management in 2011 after a “shift in the public’s preference for models that represent health and an attainable reality for the average woman.” Health, both emotional and physical and offering models work opportunities at their natural body shape and size, is at the heart of their mission.
Revolt Model Agency
Founded by London born sisters Miriam and Sophia, Revolt hand selects their models with individual personality, talent and unique style. They aim to connect high fashion brands with progressive individuals and have models in London, Paris, and the US. They have a diverse range of talents, from musicians and dancers to fashion stylists and actors.
Slay Models
Slay Model Management is one of the first management companies to represent transgender fashion talent. They explain on their website that their “strong commitment to developing them as successful models is not about quantifying the model’s gender, it is about their passion and commitment to being the best possible models they can be.”
The Btwn
Btwn management represents a range of body shapes and sizes. They explain “For those of us that have always felt like too much or too little, we’re right there with you, in btwn.” They seek to let their models define how they want to be seen beyond size, labels and shape.
We Speak Models
We Speak explains on its website that it “tackles beauty standards, combats tokenism and opens important conversations with brands about how to push the industry further into this new era of advertising, marketing and promotion. We Speak champions diversity, protects models and supports healthy lifestyles. Models are paid on time, and they’re not charged mysterious fees.” It is a non-traditional model agency that seeks to represent people from all backgrounds. It cares about amplifying the voices of marginalized groups and celebrating self-acceptance, authenticity and progressive body ideals.
Ricky Michiels
Ricky’s models are not always conventional; he explained in an interview with i-D in 2019 that “Uniqueness is definitely at the top of my list. I don’t really care about size, height, or age. I’m looking for not only unique features but personality in general. I’m looking for talent that’s going to represent something bigger than themselves.”
Jag models
Founded in 2013, Jaclyn and Gary created Jag Models with an inclusive vision. Their mission is rooted in kindness, compassion, hard work, and accepting individuals for who they are. They explain that “we encourage our models to develop a strong voice and showcase their unique spark.”
Zebedee
Zebedee is a talent agency that seeks to increase the representation of people with disabilities. Disability is often left out of the diversity debate, and Zebedee works to build a real community and offer workshops while also successfully placing talent in paid work opportunities and running some of their own campaigns, catwalk shows and socials too.
Anti-Agency
Representing models who have aspirations aside from just modelling is something that Anti-Agency searches for. They also search for unique and exciting personalities, focusing on what is inside rather than only considering factors such as height and weight.
