After a long wait, the show did not disappoint.
It’s official: The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show finally got a makeover on Tuesday night, October 15, in New York City. After a six-year wait — the shows were halted in 2019 following criticism over a lack of diversity and relevance in a changing fashion landscape — the iconic event of the 2000s and 2010s was revived with the aim of combining nostalgia for the shows past with a new, more inclusive vision of lingerie . The lineup included glamour, angel wings, fashion, and an even more spectacular musical show. Beyond the iconic lingerie looks, all of the shoes in the show were specially designed by René Caovilla to complement the looks. Reflecting the shoe house’s DNA, the shoes featured signature motifs like snakeskin, crystals, and stardust soles, as well as styles inspired by the Venetian archives.
The bet is held with a podium that does not disappoint, between long-time angels and new faces, reflecting a new generation under the sign of diversity and acceptance of bodies. Gigi Hadid , a regular at Victoria’s Secret shows, opened the show adorned with larger-than-life pink angel wings, followed by a series of other Victoria’s Secret veterans, including Jasmine Tookes, Grace Elizabeth and Taylor Hill. Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Bella Hadid and Tyra Banks parade again, while the arrival of Devyn Garcia, Ashley Graham, Alex Consani and Paloma Elsesser reflects the new era that the lingerie brand is trying to establish. Renowned musical artists also stood out, including Lisa , the star of Blackpink, who opened the evening, followed by Tyla and Cher , the headliner, who also paraded to perform some of her flagship songs, all adorned with Messika jewelry.
