From mother-daughter duos to sisters and best friends, these small fashion brands are elegant, versatile and vibrant.
De Lana

De Lana is a sustainable mother-daughter brand with timeless knitwear pieces. They combine handmade expertise and natural, high-quality materials, resulting in elegant, versatile, and comfortable pieces. The process is such that you can pick a model, colour, and even add a note with something you want to alter, such as making it shorter, longer etc meaning your item is truly unique.
We love this brand’s values as they operate in a very short production chain. The wool is all imported from European spinning mills, and the production is done in their workshop located just outside of Brussels. The high-quality wool comes from a European spinning mill that also produces for “Haute Couture” houses. The threads are dyed in Europe, and the use of tints and how they are disposed of into the environment follow European regulations. So, slow fashion, transparency and quality are core values of this brand.
Dôen

Founded by sisters Margaret and Katherine Kleveland, Dôen encourages second-hand sales of their clothing via resale and consignment retailers. In 2019 they partnered with The RealReal to promote a circular economy, keep clothing items out of landfills, and provide worn pieces to more people. The packaging is also 100% recyclable.
Sleeper

Friends Kate Zubareva and Asya Varetsa are the founders of Sleeper. Each garment is handmade, and a minimum of equipment is used to produce it to reduce carbon emissions. Their production is zero waste as they only make as many items as they can sell, and the fabric leftovers are given to their tailor Anya who teaches children cutting and sewing.
Eco-packaging is also used with linen bags, and the brand strives to support slow fashion by creating pieces that last years. Natural materials are used, and the brand aims to have 100% of its materials biodegradable by 2030. Shop these clothes with vibrant colours and reflective materials and designs.
