Redefining Scandinavian minimalism.
After an eventful week chock-full of innovation, style and creative representation, Stockholm Fashion Week has officially wrapped up. The event focused mainly on exploring how to adapt to the new normal with the pandemic and rapid digitalization impacting our lives and how fashion fits all of this. Although sustainability was at the very core of the event, another exciting takeaway from the fashion week was the colour palette.
Scandinavia is best known for its clean and minimalistic style that values comfort and practicality. However, if there’s one thing this year’s fashion week has proven, it’s that Scandinavian minimalism does not equal blandness. Quite the opposite! This was demonstrated by the parade of colours seen during Stockholm Fashion Week and was definitely the pick me up we were all longing for. The event showcased a smaller than usual selection of Swedish brands considering the Covid-19 restrictions. Some of the selected brands, including LAZOSCHMIDL, STAND STUDIO and H&M STUDIO, all incorporated bright pop colours in their collections, with neon green taking centre stage. Explaining the decision behind these bold colour choices to inspire and include a little positivity in their collections. “The collection is the chorus for a pre-apocalyptic hymn of positivity.” LAZOSCHMIDL described their AW22 collection.

The Scandinavian fashion scene is often at the forefront of trends, and we are happy to report that this time is no exception. So don’t be afraid to have a little fun! Add a splash of color to brighten up your wardrobe because we predict that those who won’t will be left green with jealousy.
