The return of the one-piece to the runways and in the suitcases of the most style-conscious women is not a nostalgic revival, but an aesthetic statement calibrated to the present. After seasons dominated by micro-bikinis and minimalist silhouettes, the one-piece resurfaces with its aura of sensual, almost architectural rigor. The runways of Milan and Paris have relaunched it as an aesthetic icon, reinventing it with cut-outs , deep necklines, asymmetrical shoulder straps and couture details.

The solid-color one-piece breaks free from the idea of essentiality to become a manifesto of style, with three signature interpretations that tell different beachwear moods. Chanel offers it in an activewear couture version, with a central zip and an Olympic cut: a sporty yet refined aesthetic. It is an urban runway piece, perfect with shiny loafers and gold necklaces. Gucci instead reinterprets the swimsuit as a heritage icon: in midnight blue sponge with white profiles, it features the iconic GG monogram in relief for a vintage and preppy elegance. Finally, Skims affirms the power of simplicity with a minimal black model, with a clean cut and round neckline.

Dark chocolate is the color of the season and is also making its mark on swimwear. Zimmermann offers a model with a very deep neckline and Olympic cut, reinterpreted in a boho look with a maxi skirt in lace and multilayered voile in pastel tones. The result? Max Mara chooses clean and elegant lines with a triangle one-piece swimsuit supported by crossed straps and decorated only with a golden “M” buckle. The Calzedonia proposal is sensual, focusing on a satin fabric and a draped construction that sculpts the waist and enhances the décolleté.

Between navy stripes, psychedelic crochet and sport-chic from the futuristic Riviera, the marinière trend for summer 2025 is rewritten with couture codes and retro touches. Dior reinterprets the sailor tank top with a one-shoulder one-piece with white and blue stripes, essential and French to the core, to be worn with a saddle bag and headband for a Sixties elegance that conquers the catwalks. Missoni , queen of knitted knitwear, instead signs a colorful and vibrant crochet version, reminiscent of the summer waves of a sunset on the Mediterranean: it is a piece to copy even in the city, under a linen-straw blazer or as a bodysuit with high-waisted denim. For Prada the stripe becomes a graphic element, in a play of red, black and white contrasts. The triangular logo in the center elevates the swimsuit to a contemporary status symbol.
