The brand celebrates its centenary with Master of Fibers , a book published by Assouline where it shows all its passion for craftsmanship.
Loro Piana celebrates its centenary with a commemorative book that tells the story of the LVMH group’s subsidiary. Founded in 1924 by Pietro Loro Piana in Quarona, in the heart of Valsesia, the company embodies the Piedmontese wool tradition. Pietro inherited his interest in wool processing from his grandfather, Giovanni, and his father, Giacomo, who transformed the local textile industry between the 19th and 20th centuries.

In the 1930s, under the direction of his grandson Franco, Loro Piana established itself as a leader in the luxury market by introducing fibers such as cashmere and vicuña, native to Central Asia and the Andes, respectively, to Italy . This history is documented in the volume “Master of Fibers,” curated by Nicholas Foulkes and published by Assouline. The book traces the house ‘s most important moments through the testimonies of the six generations that have led it, illustrating its transition from a local textile company to an international luxury brand.
Printed using traditional techniques and presented in a slipcase covered in Sergio fabric, one of the house’s most prized textiles, the publication showcases the “uncompromising quality” that distinguishes Loro Piana. The volume was launched in London as a launching pad for the centenary celebrations.
