Maison Balmain’s new sneakers collection was unveiled in Paris at the Kith boutique.
Olivier Rousteing presented his Unicorn Sneakers and guided us into his enchanted universe.
It is within the electric atmosphere, in the architectural building of three floors at the heart of Paris, that the new sneakers have been highlighted.
Inspired by unicorns, “mythical creatures which symbolise courage, pride and liberating power”, the new futuristic sneakers were presented during the event at KITH concept store in Paris.
Streetwear pieces conceptualised by the metaverse and fashion artist Safa Sahin and talented Creative Director of La Maison Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, have been exposed on the 2nd of June.

Models, influencers, and fashion personalities have been rushing to the hall of the boutique, including the supermodel of the “Balmain Army”, Cindy Bruna, who surveyed the corridors of the concept store.

How does this collab fit into the spirit and universe of Maison Balmain?
The Universe of Balmain is part of modernity, know-how and the future. Kith is exactly that as well. Kith is avant-garde, always looking forward and not looking back. Kith and Balmain are timeless and suspended in time but never in the past.
It has been 13 years that you have been working at Balmain. How do you renew and reinvent yourself with each collection?
The inspiration comes from all of you. It comes from all the people I have around me who are incredibly inspiring. Every year is different for me. Every season is a new adventure. I never feel bored thanks to the people around me.
Can you tell us what the story behind the Unicorn Sneakers is?
The Unicorn is access to the moon, the future, and another planet. That is to say, sometimes the earth is not enough. So, therefore, with the Unicorn, you can travel.

The Unicorn silhouette has been made with 8 different moulds, a multi-sectional sole, shock-absorber cushioning systems, and a metallic Balmain lion’s head…
Timeless, visionary, and iconic, the sneakers have already been sold out. Unicorns do exist.
