After a year of digital, La Croisette was final back for our most profound pleasure. The Festival of Cannes is one of the biggest movie festivals in the world, hosting every night through its duration a prestigious red carpet. From Archives, Couture and Customed, here are some of the best looks of the red carpet and their fashion secrets.
Bella Hadid in Haute Couture and Archives
The model had two breathtaking fashion moments, with archives from Jean-Paul Gaultier and the latest of Schiaparelli Haute Couture. Bella Hadid’s first look was a Jean-Paul Gaultier Haute Couture dress from the Spring-Summer 2002 collection. A dress straight from the archives was worn by Naomi Campbell at the original show in 2002. Her second look, a Schiaparelli dress from the recent Haute Couture collection, with the brand’s signature, massive gold jewels. Here, a gold necklace in the form of a lung adorns the chest. Bella was the first to wear this dress, only a week after it was presented on the runway.

Timothée Chalamet in Customed
Timothée Chalamet walked the red carpet in this silver customed suit, made by Tom Ford. The designer, known for being a master in tailoring, made this customed suit, meaning it was specially done for the actor and this occasion. Once again, Chalamet, co-hosting the MET Gala in September, is proving he is making himself a name in the world of fashion.
Camille Charrière in Archives
The writer walked the red carpet with incredible archive looks. The first one, a black split Dolce Gabbana vintage dress from 2001. As the writer called them, the geeks will remember because, at the time, the dress was the talk in the fashion world being introduced in an iconic ad by no one else than Gisele Bundchen. Camille’s second look was a lilac Galliano dress, which was first released in the ’90s.
Tilda Swinton in Customed
Tilda Swinton and Haider Ackermann have been friends for more than 20 years now. And this friendship between the actress and the designer has been a walking proof in many incredible outfits from events for both of them. Cannes didn’t escape this. Tilda wore two stunning Ackermann’s creations, a unicolour blue suit and a pink crop blazer with a sparkling undershirt and an orange skirt.
Spike Lee in Customed
As the president of the festival, Spike Lee walked the red carpet multiples times. And each time, the director wore gorgeous suits. Either by Louis Vuitton or Off-White, the suits mainly were unicolour, always paired with glasses of the same colours and with Air Forces. During the closing ceremony, the director was wearing a sublime suit, looking like a canvas.
