2022 Trend Forecast: Big, Bold and “Catty”

As we leave the year 2021 behind, the same must also apply to last year’s trends. So say goodbye to “Vaccine shirts” and puffy sleeves and exchange your lavender loungewear into a chic black and white combo and get ready to embrace the new year.

With the arrival of the new year, we are looking forward to finally getting back to our normal lives and having the opportunity to actually wear something other than the massive pile of pyjamas and loungewear sets we have acquired over the past year. For this reason, we scoured the runways and gathered together four significant trends for 2022 you do not want to miss.

One of the most visible trends seen on the runway this season was the absence of a complete shirt. It’s like the designers had collectively gathered together and decided the midriff of a shirt is utterly unnecessary and just in the way. This way makes this year all about the abs. Although the runway was largely composed of specific body types, we hope to see absolutely everyone rocking the “free the belly” look as we start approaching warmer weather.

Catsuit Revolution

Catsuit Revolution

Get ready to see some tight fits and fierce attitudes as catsuits are making a comeback big time this year. Maybe the excitement of the new Matrix and the upcoming Batman movies finally got to be just enough to make us fall back in love with this coveted style. Whatever the reason, we are not complaining.

The Bigger the Better (and Warmer!)

The Bigger the Better (and Warmer!)

Don’t you just love it when trendy equals comfortable? Me too! Luckily it seems like the designers agree, and I am happy to announce that oversized jackets are one of the season’s trends. No matter if it’s a cosy winter coat or an oversized blazer ready to complete your back to the office look, all you need is an oversized jacket, and you are all set!

Black and White

Black and White

This year we are going back to the basics with a black and white colour combo. This classic pairing is now trendier than ever, and unlike other colours of the season, this look will never go out of style.
