The thirteenth edition of Monte-Carlo Fashion Week (MCFW) concluded triumphantly, bringing an exceptional celebration of style to the Principality from April 22 to 26, 2025. This year’s event further cemented its position as a growing reference in the international fashion scene, thanks to a full program of runway shows, presentations, and engaging conversations centered around crucial themes such as sustainability, circular economy, diversity, and inclusivity.
“Fashion holds the transformative ability to inspire and shape the future,” said Federica Nardoni Spinetta, President and Founder of the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode and Monte-Carlo Fashion Week. “We are proud to support innovation and creativity, especially by highlighting emerging talents who are reimagining fashion with a focus on responsibility and inclusion.”
The official opening ceremony was hosted at Monaco’s City Hall, where designer Elisabetta Franchi unveiled her Eternal collection — an ode to Italy’s artisanal heritage and enduring elegance.
The festivities then transitioned to the Yacht Club de Monaco, where the house of Roberto Cavalli debuted its latest Couture creations in a spectacular global preview, dazzling an elite audience of celebrities and distinguished guests with intricate craftsmanship and sophisticated designs.
One of the standout moments of the week was the MCFW Fashion Awards Ceremony, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Supported by the luxury fragrance house Xerjoff, the awards honored individuals who have shown exceptional commitment to ethics, innovation, and social responsibility. The evening, hosted by Radio Monte Carlo’s Maurizio Di Maggio alongside Martika Caringella, recognized several outstanding figures:
- Renzo Rosso, founder of Diesel and Chairman of the OTB Group (which encompasses brands such as Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor & Rolf, and Amiri), was presented with the Positive Change Award for his groundbreaking contributions to sustainable fashion.
- Arianna Alessi, Vice President of the OTB Foundation, received the Positive Social Impact Award for her unwavering dedication to social causes and humanitarian initiatives.
- Kelly Rutherford, celebrated actress and fashion muse, was honored with the Fashion Icon Award for her classic style and enduring influence on the fashion world.
- The Pavillon Bosio – Monaco’s prestigious School of Visual Arts – was recognized with the Made in Monaco – Educational Award for its role in advancing education in the arts.
Throughout the week, the Yacht Club de Monaco became a vibrant showcase for both Monegasque designers and international labels. Highlights included the refined elegance of Collini Milano 1937, the sophisticated Special Collection of the Yacht Club de Monaco, and the energetic 20th-anniversary show by Beach & Cashmere Monaco.
Fresh creativity also came from Mediterranean talent Isabel Fargnoli, the futuristic designs of Valtoria, the imaginative collections of Kalfar, the exotic flair of Abiddikkia, the poetic approach of Mami Okano, the glamour of Marlea Monte-Carlo, the refined lines of Leslie Monte-Carlo, the regal touches of Laura Spreti, and the romantic spirit of Diana Mara — all presenting forward-thinking collections with sustainability at heart.
The program continued with a conversation featuring Renzo Rosso and Arianna Alessi, moderated by Geneviève Berti, Director of Communications for the Principality of Monaco. The talk explored the missions of OTB and its Foundation, the future of fashion, and the crucial role of sustainability.
Among the notable side events, the performance Glad You’re Awake offered a unique fusion of fashion and art, conceived by students of Pavillon Bosio in collaboration with students from Polimoda Florence. This avant-garde show blurred the lines between runway and performance art.
Another memorable moment was the Fashion meets Design event at Spazio Italiano, where refined design objects and fashion creations, including Deglupta’s handcrafted bags and Yasya Minochkina’s stylish garments, came together in a vibrant celebration of creativity.
Finally, wellness also had its moment at MCFW 2025, with Narek Sirakanyan presenting the French luxury nutraceutical brand Project V, emphasizing a holistic vision of beauty, health, and longevity on a global scale.
