There are those, who, when they look even from the great comforts of their private lives, can see the world objectively. And when they see, they see things that they would like to change. Business magnate and philanthropist, Mohammed Al-Bayat shares with us three things that he would like to change about the world.
Poverty
Poverty is a common enemy. We all are called to fight for its eradication, says Mohammed. He observes that lack of money translates directly into a lack of opportunity. As a firm believer in nurturing than blaming nature, he thinks if everyone had equal opportunities the world would be a better place.
Skill oriented education
Mohammed believes that tech-oriented education has deprived people of using and developing their innate skills. We are easily satisfied with templatized, factory-produced outputs for mass consumption. This has led to a devaluation of skills in people’s minds, he says. He aims to restore people’s faith in skill-based education, where students can develop their skills and use them in creative ways. Instilling such an outlook in young people through education would lead to new and creative solutions to many world problems says, Mohammed.
A localized consciousness
While the global consciousness is very critical to living in the modern world, Mohammed believes that we as responsible citizens must also put equal importance to the role of a localized, community-oriented perspective to life. We have developed a system where very few get to work on the big problems and the many small problems are left unattended and become big and unbearable in due course, says Mohammed. His vision is to rework the system in a way where local communities with localized consciousness will open up opportunities for everyone to work on the various problems that are usually left unattended.
Mohammed’s vision of a new world gives us the impetus to look at our world more objectively and make it better one day at a time. We wish Mohammed the very best in his work.
