Now living in Morocco, she plans to incorporate traditional Moroccan techniques into her physical clothing production. Varya also collaborates with brands to integrate AI into their creative processes and shares her expertise through social media and educational content. She is passionate about shaping the future of digital and physical fashion, merging craftsmanship and innovation. In this interview, Varya shares her insights on the fusion of technology and fashion and her vision for the future of the industry.
Your journey from architecture to fashion and AI-driven design is truly unique. How has your background in architecture influenced your approach to creating futuristic luxury pieces?
My architectural background has deeply shaped my approach to fashion design. Architecture teaches structure, proportion, and the interplay between form and function—all of which are essential in creating garments with a sculptural, futuristic aesthetic. I often think about clothing as wearable architecture, where materials, textures, and intricate details must work harmoniously. My designs incorporate geometric precision, organic fluidity, and a strong sense of spatial awareness, blending structure with movement. This mindset allows me to craft AI-driven couture that feels both avant-garde and timeless.
What do you think are the most significant advancements in artificial intelligence over the next 10 years?
AI is evolving at an incredible pace, and I believe the most significant advancements will be in hyper-personalisation, AI-human collaboration, and sustainable production. In fashion, AI will enable highly customised designs, tailored to individual body types and preferences in real time. We will also see AI as a true creative partner, where designers can co-create with intelligent systems rather than simply using them as tools. Additionally, AI will revolutionise material innovation, enabling the development of sustainable, biodegradable, and self-repairing fabrics, reducing waste in the industry.
You have successfully combined AI with haute couture, expanding the possibilities of digital and physical fashion. What do you see as the biggest challenge in integrating AI into high-end fashion design?
One of the biggest challenges is maintaining craftsmanship and emotional depth in AI-generated fashion. Haute couture is about storytelling, meticulous detail, and human touch—elements that AI, despite its advancements, still struggles to replicate fully. Another challenge is bridging the gap between digital and physical fashion. While AI can create stunning digital designs, transforming them into real, wearable garments requires advanced materials, production techniques, and a shift in how luxury fashion brands embrace technology. Finding the right balance between AI’s efficiency and the artistry of traditional craftsmanship is an ongoing journey.
As you plan to include traditional Moroccan sewing techniques in your next collections, how do you see the balance between heritage craftsmanship with modern technology in your future designs?
I believe the future of fashion lies in the seamless fusion of heritage craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Moroccan sewing techniques are rich in detail, texture, and cultural significance, and I want to honour that tradition by incorporating it into my designs. AI can enhance this process by generating intricate patterns, optimising construction, and even predicting the best ways to integrate handcrafted elements. This approach allows me to preserve artisanal skills while pushing the boundaries of innovation, creating collections that are both rooted in history and forward-thinking.
How do you see AI reshaping industries beyond technology, such as healthcare, education, or the arts?
AI is already transforming industries in profound ways. In healthcare, it’s improving diagnostics, personalised treatments, and even drug discovery. In education, AI-driven platforms offer adaptive learning experiences tailored to individual students, making knowledge more accessible worldwide. In the arts, AI is both a creative tool and a disruptive force, challenging traditional notions of authorship and originality. The key is to use AI as an enhancer rather than a replacement, ensuring that human creativity, ethics, and emotional intelligence remain at the core of these advancements.

What foundational knowledge or programming languages do you recommend beginners prioritise to succeed in AI?
For those interested in the technical side, Python is the most essential programming language for AI development. It is widely used in machine learning and deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Understanding data science, neural networks, and prompt engineering can also be beneficial, especially for creatives working with AI-generated art and design. For non-coders, tools like Chatgpt, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Kling AI, and Runway ML allow for intuitive experimentation with AI without extensive programming knowledge.
What are some of the ways creators can monetise their work with AI, especially in the fashion space?
There are many exciting ways to monetise creative work with AI today. One popular method is offering AI fashion portraits or custom looks, where clients can send a photo and receive a high-fashion, AI-generated image of themselves styled in couture or trend-forward pieces. Another growing area is AI models. For example, I collaborate with an AI model named Alexandree Estévez @ms.alxandree, who features in runway collections, fashion campaigns, and branded content. These AI personas can be used to showcase digital clothing, promote products, or even be licensed for commercial collaborations.
Creators can also earn through prompt design, digital fashion collections, educational products, or offering custom content creation for brands using AI tools. The key is to find your aesthetic, build a strong portfolio, and use platforms like Instagram, Off/Script, or even NFTs to share and sell your work.
