Blush is a must-have in every girl’s makeup bag. It is a necessary element of any makeup. It perfectly masks pallor, refreshes the complexion, and, if used correctly, visually rejuvenates for a couple of years.
Looking visually younger is every woman’s dream. With the help of high-quality cosmetics, you can not only correct the oval of the face but also mask visible defects, arrange the final touches, and highlight attractive contours and curves. It is difficult to imagine makeup without using blush. Isn’t it true that it looks more like a sketch? As if something is missing. But it’s worth putting a little blush on the brush and applying just a few strokes – and voila! – makeup began to play with colours and became “alive”. Because blush can significantly transform an image, the choice of suitable shades deserves special attention. How do you choose a blush to look stylish and fresh and feel “one hundred percent” all day?
WHAT KIND OF BLUSH ARE THERE?
Very different! On store shelves, you can find blush with the texture of jelly, mousse or crumbly, but most often, you can see dry (they are compact, powdery), cream, liquid and tints. Often, the last two copies are put in the same category, but if there will always be a persistent texture in a jar labelled “tint”, then liquid blush does not guarantee this (although it is not excluded).
Plus, more and more multifunctional products have been released recently, which can be applied not only to lips but also to cheeks and even eyelids.” There are a lot of them in our collection.
HOW TO APPLY BLUSH?
“If you prefer dry textures, then in practice, they can only be applied with a brush — unlike cream and liquid ones. They are more versatile: they can be applied with a sponge, brush, and even fingertips.” Also, cream and liquid blush look more natural. If they are well-shaded, they literally merge with the skin, and often, there is no feeling that you have applied anything at all. But there are also pitfalls.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT SHADE?
“If you want to give your face a cool blush, then choose a pink undertone. If you emphasize the tan or give warmth to the face, then peach,” says our beauty editor, Zahar Grinov. And you can also look at terracotta — now it is extra-fashionable.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I PAY ATTENTION TO WHEN CHOOSING BLUSH?
The way the blush is put out should be soft and easy. “If the blush is not extinguished well, then it will be difficult to achieve a neat application, and the makeup will look careless.” Try a test on the cheek and on the wrist: in both the first and the second cases, everything will become clear.
WHERE TO APPLY BLUSH?
The simplest life hack: observe where you get a natural blush — blush will look as natural as possible in these areas. But there are other ways! “If we are talking about peach and terracotta shades, you can apply blush on the lines that we usually apply bronzer to: the protruding parts of the cheekbones and along the periphery of the face. — Pink ones are often recommended to be applied to the centre of the “apples”. But you need to be careful with this technique: such a technique can emphasize the “roundness” or “squareness” of the face, and this is not always what a person wants.”
Blush can correct the shape of the face if that is the goal. To make the face thinner, we recommend working not in circular movements but in diagonal lines that go up. If, on the contrary, the face needs to be made less oval and/or thin, apply blush to the centre of the cheeks but still shade upwards. Zahar advises not to apply blush under the cheekbone or too low—it really lowers the face.
