This is a typical case of alignment of the stars: after six years in 2025, Easter, April 25th and May 1st are all close together and represent a generous opportunity that should not be wasted but rather exploited in the right way. Leaving for spring break is the ideal choice to unwind before the last rush of work while waiting for the long-awaited summer holidays. Relaxing away from the classic daily activities and taking a regenerating break becomes easy with this recap with ideas for the Easter long weekend, including hybrid destinations and itineraries between nature, culture and adventure, or short, medium and long-haul spring 2025 trips . Where to go in spring in Italy or abroad is already here. Furthermore, from April 1st 2025 the direct high-speed connection between Milan and Paris will return. After a year and a half of stoppage, due to the landslide in the Maurienne Valley, it will again be possible to travel between the two cities in less than seven hours, without stopovers or long waits at the airport.

Ideas for the Easter 2025 long weekend in close contact with Nature

The restorative holiday in close contact with nature ideal during the Easter holidays and the spring long weekends focuses entirely on Trentino-Alto Adige. The transformation, with the advance of spring, is sudden: the Valle di Non, the valley of apples, from a large green expanse, in a few days, is colored with a pure white and a pale pink. The flowering of the apple trees, at the end of April, is an unrepeatable moment to go and discover this valley rich in small villages full of history, ancient toll booths and truly particular natural environments such as the canyons that flow into the lake of Santa Giustina. Aprile dolce fiorire is the rich program of events created by the Strada della Mela e dei Sapori delle Valli di Non e Sole ideal for experiencing the spectacle of the blooms from 11 April to 2 May . The Altopiano della Paganella with the Parco del Respiro di Fai is also among the ideal places in Trentino suitable for finding the balance of body and mind as  Forest Bathing, a profound experience that brings numerous long-lasting benefits. Scientific studies have in fact demonstrated that spending a few hours in the woods, especially if rich in beech trees, produces positive effects on the body, such as reducing stress and strengthening the immune system. Park It is a green oasis where you can indulge in guided experiences and walk along paths such as the Belvedere which ranges from the Cembra Valley to the Lagorai group, or the Sentiero Acqua e Faggi, where you can indulge in the magic of lights and sounds. The Parco del Respiro will also be a guest of the 73rd edition of the Trento Film Festival , the international film festival dedicated to the themes of mountains, adventure and exploration, which for the 2025 edition offers three events dedicated to Forest Bathing and breathing in the setting of the Buonconsiglio Castle park. Also to be noted in the agenda is a stop in Bressanone which in 2025 celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Tyrolean peasant revolts. From 10 May the exhibition “Rebellion! Novacella Abbey and the peasant revolt in 1525”, set up in the original location of the monastery , tells the story of the sacking of the monastery and the first appearance of the peasant leader Michael Gaismair, as well as taking a look at the challenges that peasants face today.

Celebrating Carnival in May? No, it’s not a typo, but the appointment with the Portuguese island of Madeira for the Carnival of Flowers. From May 2 to 6, immediately after Easter, this jewel in the Atlantic has celebrated the arrival of spring for almost forty years now: the streets of Funchal, the capital, fill up with floral floats and groups of children who build “walls of hope” decorated with flowers. The festival also includes concerts, shows and a parade in which thousands of dancers dressed in floral costumes parade through the streets. The autonomous region of Portugal is transformed into an open-air natural museum where flowers come to life: they dance, move, take on new and spectacular shapes. And then you can lose yourself in the markets and exhibitions totally dedicated to flora, in the botanical gardens and the trekking routes that lead to breathtaking views. And for an extra treat, you can book afternoon tea on the terrace of the Reid Belmond. A synaesthetic cure to regenerate body and spirit. Flights to Madeira with a stopover in Lisbon can be easily booked on Omio, the travel plan platform.

Spring break is a great opportunity to follow in the footsteps of artists and charismatic figures who have shaped the mood and marked the heartbeat of the community: exhibitions and installations are therefore the filter with which to identify the choices of destinations to reach during the off days of Easter and the spring long weekends of April and May. At the Gagosian Gallery in Rome, Italian Days is open until May 17 , the photography exhibition curated by Cécile Degos dedicated to the master Richard Avedon passing through the Belpaese at the end of the 1940s on the streets of Rome, Sicily and Venice. The shots from the Italy series – 18 of which are exhibited for the first time – are in dialogue with portraits of iconic figures who embody the style of the American photographer . Also in Rome, there is the opportunity to admire the master of light in the CARAVAGGIO 2025 exhibition at the Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica – Palazzo Barberini, open until July 6. Curated by Francesca Cappelletti, Maria Cristina Terzaghi and Thomas Clement Salomon, the exhibition features 24 works masterpieces extraordinarily lent by the most prestigious national and international museums, in one of the most important and ambitious exhibition projects ever dedicated to the work of Merisi on the occasion of the Jubilee 2025. Also on display are the Portrait of Maffeo Barberini , recently unveiled to the public and the Ecce Homo rediscovered in Madrid in 2021 which returns to Italy after four centuries.

Stop by Zurich , at the Rietberg Museum from 4 April to 17 August 2025, the exhibition Hallyu! The Korean Wave, a project produced by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in its only European stage, is therefore unmissable if you are a lover not only of K-Pop but of the entire culture. The exhibition explores the eclectic and vibrant popular culture of South Korea, a phenomenon that emerged in the late 1990s and has now spread to every corner of the planet. The exhibition traces the origins of hallyu – the Korean wave – and its links with traditional art, and then analyses its global influence in fields such as pop culture, cinema, fashion and multimedia art. The Swiss itinerary continues at the Mudac in Lausanne with the exhibition ‘ Soleil·s’, a large exhibition organised as part of the second edition of the Solar Biennale , born in 2022 by designers Pauline van Dongen and Marjan van Aubel as a global platform dedicated to dialogue on solar energy challenges through design, art and research. ‘ Soleil s’ runs from the spring equinox, March 21, to the autumn equinox, September 21, 2025. The Museum of Contemporary Design and Applied Arts is therefore hosting in the Plateforme 10 arts district and on the EPFL campus a variety of collective installations and interactive workshops focusing on the transformative potential of design to engage, inspire and invite communities to play an active role in building a ‘solar future’.

To continue embracing the eastern hemisphere of the world, from Japan we go up to South Korea, a land of surprising contrasts, where every corner tells a unique story of tradition, innovation and natural beauty. From Seoul , where majestic temples blend with ultra-modern skyscrapers with the Gyongbok Palace, the grandest palace of the Joseon dynasty, and the legendary Gangnam district that looks to the future, the Boscolo Tours itinerary also visits Gyeongju , the “museum-city without walls” with the Bulguksa Temple, one of the most extraordinary wonders not to be missed in Korea. And then Busan , the second city of the country, which fascinates with its natural beauty and its lively atmosphere immersed between mountains and sea: among the unforgettable experiences you cannot miss the Oryukdo Skywalk, the glass walkway that extends over the sea overlooking the cliffs. On Airbnb you can also book a stay in Gujwa-eup Cheju , east of Jeju Island, in the modernist villa overlooking the sea where you can swim, surf and enjoy the beach life. Carpe Diem.
