The luxury hospitality sector has known its hardships in recent years, with an unprecedented 66.3% decline in air passengers in 2020. However, five-star lodging awaits the coming year for grand openings, in light of a resurgence in tourism and travel flows. Here are ten of the most anticipated hotel openings of 2021.
Bvlgari Hotel, Paris
Following various cities that hosted the Bvlgari Hotel in 2018 such as Milan, London, Bali, and Dubai, a new Bvlgari Hotel is set to open its doors in Paris, early 2021 into growing the group’s collection up to ten properties by 2023. Designed by Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, and the Parisian architects Valode & Pistre, the Hotel sets exclusivity and luxury as core to the entire experience. Situated in 30 Avenue George V, one of the famous Triangle D’Or’s avenues, customers are guaranteed the heart of comfort, entertainment and cultural attractions.

Aman, New York City
The Aman makes an appearance in New York City as a first for the group, this spring. Set in one of the city’s most monumental buildings, the Hotel occupies what was once home of the Museum of Modern Art: The Crown Building. Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, Aman New York embodies the prominent notions of comfort, elegance and luxury. The Hotel overlooks Central Park, located on the corner of fifth avenue and 57th street: a famous point in the city’s skyline.

Nobu Hotel, Marrakech
Known for its various luxury lifestyle destinations, Nobu Hotel enters the market in Marrakech. Conserving the group’s contemporary flair and rich culture, Nobu Hotel Marrakech will be located near the city’s historic centre. It will offer a one all-encompassing enriching experience and is set to open in autumn of 2021.
Royal Palace of Fez
Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s latest addition sits within the historic “Golden Triangle of Art” in Madrid. As the group prepares to welcome the city’s soon-to-be most luxurious hotel, Mandarin Oriental Ritz restorations celebrate and honour hotelier Cézar Ritz’s inventive essence. The Hotel is currently accepting reservations from March 15th, 2021.

NoMad, London
The NoMad, one of America’s most renowned boutique hotel brands, inaugurates its first international property in London for its European debut. It takes residence in a Grade II-listed historic building in the famous Covent Garden. The place’s designs explore the artistic connections between London and New York in collaboration with interior design studio Roman and Williams.

Four Seasons Hotel at Chao Phraya River, Bangkok
Bangkok, a burgeoning city, hosts the Four Seasons’ take on luxury accommodation. At the Chao Phraya River, the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok combines modern and traditional to create its own spectacular visitor experience. The Columns, New Orleans

Six Senses New York is the group’s first North American property. Located in between Manhattan’s Hudson River and the High Line, you’ll recognize it as a core constituent of the XI towers, designed by architect Bjarke Ingels. The Hotel’s rooms and suites owe their contemporary elegance to Parisian firm Gilles & Boissier. It is the promise of an exclusive, luxurious proficiency.

Cheval Blanc, Paris
The LVMH-owned Cheval Blanc will open its doors in the heart of the Parisian city this year. Located on the Seine’s edge, the hotel joins monumental buildings reflecting the city’s grandiose and lavishness. Architects Edouard Francois and Peter Marino inspire themselves by an Art Déco kind of feel, to showcase the French savoir-faire through this haven’s designs and architecture.

One&Only Portonovi, Montenegro
In a European debut, One&Only opens up a new resort in Montenegro: the One&Only Portonovi. The Venetian palace-style overlooks the famous Boka Bay, nothing short of a dream location on the Adriatic Sea. The resort’s formal opening ceremony is to take place on March 21st, opening its door to guests starting the May 1st.
