Celebrities are saying goodbye to Twitter after Elon Musk takes over the platform.

As of November 3, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/elon-musk-human-ai-2019" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elon Musk</a> is the official new owner of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/politics-culture/twitter-takes-away-the-iconic-like-button" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a>. In April of 2022, Musk began his acquisition of the platform, and on October 27, Musk completed the $44 billion deal, concluding one of the largest tech deals to date.&nbsp;
Amid Musk&rsquo;s highly controversial acquisition, many celebrities have called quits on the platform. Musk recently shared his plans to change Twitter&rsquo;s content moderation and bans, causing many to fear the increase in hate speech and dangerous content circulating the platform.&nbsp;
The list of celebrities leaving Twitter is ongoing, but here are the celebs who have announced their departure so far.&nbsp;

Balenciaga

It's not just celebrities leaving Twitter. Balenciaga became the first major fashion brand to exit the platform following Musk's new tenure.

Grey&rsquo;s Anatomy showrunner <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/bridgerton-netflix-costume-designer-ellen-mirojnick-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shonda Rhimes</a> made a short and to-the-point statement about her decision to leave Twitter.&nbsp;

The 27-year-old supermodel <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/gigi-hadid-recipes-pasta-instagram" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gigi Hadid</a> deactivated her Twitter account, and made a statement on her Instagram story, stating that Twitter has been and is becoming &ldquo;more and more of a cesspool of hate &amp; bigotry, and it&rsquo;s not a place I want to be a part of.&rdquo; She then went on to say, &ldquo;Only sorry to the fans, who I&rsquo;ve loved connecting with for a decade via Twitter, but I can&rsquo;t say it&rsquo;s a safe place for anyone, nor a social platform that will do more good than harm.&rdquo;

Musician Sara Bareilles emphasized that the new reign on Twitter wasn't the right place for her, and signed off the platform.&nbsp;

American singer Toni Braxton made a lengthier statement in fear of the new &ldquo;free speech&rdquo; content on the platform.&nbsp;

Actor, director, and producer Ken Olin tweeted his departure with a heartfelt and encouraging message to uphold peace and generosity in the world.&nbsp;

Madam Secretary actress T&eacute;a Leoni tweeted, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m coming off Twitter today &ndash; let&rsquo;s see where we are when the dust settles.&rdquo; Leoni has since deactivated her account.&nbsp;

Bill &amp; Ted actor Alex Winter deactivated his Twitter account, and posted a tweet from Elon Musk to his Instagram captioned, &ldquo;RIP Twitter."

The Simpsons comic book artist and illustrator stated on LinkedIn that he would be leaving Twitter. In a statement to NBC, Morrison stated, &ldquo;I thought I might wait to see if he reinstated Trump&rsquo;s account, but decided that there were plenty of reasons to leave even absent of a Trump return.&rdquo;

Comic book creator and artist known for The Amazing Spiderman, Erik Larson, tweeted back in April that &ldquo;the day Elon Musk buys Twitter is the day I delete my account and leave Twitter.&rdquo; Larsen appears to have stuck to his word and his account has since been deactivated.&nbsp;

The latest celeb to announce their departure from the platform is Whoopi Goldberg. During her talk show&nbsp;The View, when discussing the latest Twitter news, Goldberg made her statement to quit the platform, saying, "I'm out."
