La Table d’Antonio Salvatore x Jacob Vilato: a collaboration inspired by gastronomy

On March 22nd, Chef Antonio Salvatore and Jacob Vilato invited us to an intimate dinner at La Table d’Antonio Salvatore to celebrate art in all shapes. Chef Antonio Salvatore offered to the painter artist Jacob Vilato, coming from Madrid, to create a live painting dinner experience for ten privileged guests.

We no longer present Chef Antonio Salvatore, a Michelin-starred chef from the Rampoldi’s
restaurant, and La table d’Antonio Salvatore, the gastronomist one, located a step away from
the Casino Square.

On the other hand, we discovered for the very first time the talent of Jacob Vilato. First,
Vilato, nephew of cubist icon Pablo Picasso, presents a unique artistic illustration inspired by
the love of gastronomy and art.

Jacob Vilato is a passionate man. He has always been surrounded by artists in his family and
doctors known worldwide. He then naturally made his way between the two, becoming an
architect. This profession of passion allowed him to express his creativity while combining
precision and rigor, a side more down to earth.

Vilato always loved to paint in his spare time, and after years of working as an architect, he
gave himself a fresh start, dedicating himself to his first love, painting.

Chef Antonio Salvatore and Vilato met just a few months ago at a dinner with friends. Very
quickly, their creative minds warm up, and they share this same passion, to the delight of the
guests of Chef Antonio Salvatore and the art lovers of our young painter. The Chef challenged
Jacob to create something, but they didn’t have any painting tools, so they went into the
kitchen to select some new tools. Red peppers, eggplants, zucchini, and more, Jacob used
anything possible to realize a genuine artwork. From this unbelievable experience and
encounter, they decided to organize an exclusive live painting dinner in Monaco.

The Chef arranged a special dinner presenting its guests with a live painting show mastered
by Jacob Vilato, inspired by the love of gastronomy and art. To produce this fantastic artistic
performance, Vilato was inspired by his work “Seated Man XIII, ” an acrylic painting
184x240cm from the series “Seated Suite.”
He generously reproduces this work for each guest on the menu’s first page in a limited
      edition of 40 numbered copies.

The man of the Assisi Suite is sitting still but present, conscious, serene, and confident. He
has the will to stop and reflect to stop the coming storm; everything happens in the universe
of his intellect. With the greatest concentration, he gestates the ideas that will guide his
actions later. It is a transcendent moment. It represents the apparent contradiction of being
      motionless but running with thought.
The whole series is a fixed, unique, and limited theme.

Returning to our live painting dinner, the guests sat at the table, and the show started in the
kitchen and the room, where Jacob began to paint on a uniform canvas with an orange
background. The performance was not only to invite guests to attend the realization of this
acrylic painting live, but for our artists, the goal was to deliver to the diners at the same time
the dishes exceptionally executed and controlled by the Chef and achieve the acrylic painting
for Vilato. Two forms of art were wonderfully completed during this successful evening

A gourmet restaurant with many mouthfuls and generous dishes, each more creative than
the next. The Chef offered him very creative, beautiful, and delicious dishes for the pleasure
of our taste buds. Creations are full of stories, tradition, and passion for a unique flavor. The
boot of Italy reconstituted with different types of butter, spiced with tomatoes and basil, is
still working. The dishes are mouthwatering, and the Chef proposes a pescatarian version to
      try absolutely.

Cherry on the cake? The meticulous work of the Chief and his brigade, who always work hard
to propose more creations to their diners. Their technique is flawlessly mastered. The
realization of “trompe l’oeil” lemons filled with foam of tiny butterflies, all delicate and
crunchy for dessert, are real works of art.
Congratulations to Chef Antonio Salvatore and Jacob Vilato for their incredible work, and
thank you for having us for this unforgettable and lovely private dining experience.
