As if there weren’t enough reasons to visit the magical island of St Barth, now, the island is home to the first-ever location of the esteemed Beefbar in the Caribbean. Known for its luxurious menu featuring the world’s finest meat, the restaurant chain is the brainchild of Riccardo Giraudi.
Located at the Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf St Barth, the restaurant is another feather in the hotel’s cap. The beautiful award-winning resort, situated uphill, overlooks the port of Gustavia.
A Meat Haven
First opened in 2005 in Monaco, Beefbar is a contemporary destination for all things meat, especially the timeless steak. Focusing on the world’s finest meat, the restauranter Giraudi sought to create a contrasting, flexible, glamorous, yet unpretentious menu. Add a luxurious but laidback ambiance, and you have a restaurant where meat lovers can tantalize their taste buds with ingredients from worldwide.
Fast forward to today, and Beefbar has become a recognized brand in the culinary world with Beefbar restaurants and associated brands like the Beefbar Deli and Le Petit Beefbar. With over 30 locations around the globe, Beefbar is present in Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and now the Caribbean.
Although meat, particularly beef, is the star of the show, the restaurant also includes other food groups on the menu. The seafood and leaf bar menus complement the beef menu, which features Black Angus, Kobe, and Wagyu beef dishes.
From comfort food like Wagyu Bolognese to street food like Kobe beef bao buns, the lunch and dinner menus at the restaurant combine cultures, flavors, and, of course, meat. The dessert menu features the classic soufflés and homely choices like french toast and pavlova. The drinks menu at the St. Barths location captures the Caribbean spirit well with tropical cocktails like Negroni and Leaf Garden.
The Giraudi group’s executive chef, Thierry Paludetto, curated the menu.
Le Carl Gustaf, One of the Best on the Island
Beefbar couldn’t have picked a better location on the island to attract food lovers who like dining with a view. The hotel’s General Manager, William Numa, explained in the press release, “We offer culinary authenticity in addition to a restaurant dining experience. The brand fits perfectly into our hotel’s DNA, which includes a growing number of top-of-the-line facilities, like Shellona, nestled on its own mother-of-pearl shell beach, and the Diane Barrière Spa featuring Biologique Recherche products, ensuring our guests have an unforgettable stay.”
The resort combines luxury and wellness for vacationers with its well-equipped suites, spa, gym, and the iconic beach and dock near the facility. In addition to the newly opened Beefbar, it also features another culinary gem, Shellona, aptly named after the Shell beach. Created by the Greek chef Yiannis Kioroglou, the restaurant’s Mediterranean-inspired menu provides ample variety in flavor.
Part of the Barrière Hotel chain, Le Carl Gustaf is considered one of the best in St Barth. Adding Beefbar will only enhance its appeal for guests on the island.
Dining Rooted in Experience
Beefbar at Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf St Barth offers a wholesome dining experience for hotel guests and the island’s visitors. This location’s ambiance differs from others in Monte Carlo or Dubai, with leather upholstery, dim lighting, and contemporary decor. For St Barth, they went with a more tropical vibe with an open floor, cane chairs, and stools.
A view of the bay, displaying diffusing hues of blues, greens, reds, and whites, creates a charming atmosphere to taste imported, luxury meat. The lighting gets dimmer at night, but the restaurant still maintains that vibrant island feel with its food and music.
The restaurant opened on November 1, 2023, serving lunch from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
